Then Forestlight at Audley End Enchanted Railway, in North Essex, could be the place for you. As you stroll under the canopy of twinkling lights, you’ll be immersed with Christmas music and the magical glowing installations, which bring the forest to life. There are also a variety of photo opportunities, including the brand-new winter wardrobe, new for this year!
Located in East Anglia, between Bishop’s Stortford and Cambridge, Forestlight tickets are available from 4 pm until 6:40 pm, so it’s the perfect after-school or after-work treat to relax, unwind with nature and get into the Christmas Spirit!
Plus, for an additional charge, you can buy 3 marshmallows for £5 and toast them around a crackling fire. Or, why not warm up with a mulled wine or hot chocolate from our Forest Snacks Cafe.

How long will the trail take?
The light walk is around 300m and can take around an hour if you’re taking in the lights and stop to toast a marshmallow.
Is this accessible?
Yes, we try to make sure that all our events are catered to everyone, but as an outdoor attraction, the pathways can sometimes become uneven and muddy in the winter months.
What else is included within my ticket?
Your Forestlight ticket only includes the lights. It will not include the train or any other activities on-site. You are still welcome to use all our cafes and enjoy the Adventure Playground during your visit.
When do I need to be here?
We ask that you arrive at least 20 minutes before your entry time, so that you have time to walk down from the free parking at the Woodland Car Park and through admissions.
Is this included within my Christmas Special ticket?
Yes, if you have already purchased your Christmas Special ticket to see Father Christmas, then Forestlight will be included within your visit. While the lights are on all day, we say it is most effective after 4 pm.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, we are a dog-friendly light trail. We ask that you pick up after them and keep them on a short lead.
