What to expect at the Audley End Enchanted Railway Summer Festival!
Our brand-new Summer Festival for 2025 is coming to Audley End Enchanted Railway! If you are looking for a family-friendly day out with the kids in Essex and loads of fun things to do this summer, then we have the perfect day out for you.
A magical train ride through the woodlands
Embark on an enchanting train ride through our magical woodland, discovering festival-themed shelters where teddy bears are enjoying the summer holidays.
The train ride will stop in the woodland for a magical experience, as you step off the train and are transported into a world of magic. Cristabelle the Wishing Fairy and Twig the Elf will greet you and invite you to gather around Cristabelle’s Wishing Tree, where she will tell you all about the Festival of Wishes and how her wishing tree came to be as magical as it is! Once you have received your wishing ticket, it will be time to wave goodbye and hop back onto the train, where you will finish your journey around the woodland.
Family-fun in the Fulfen Forest
Once you disembark the train, there is so much to discover in the Fulfen Forest. With brand-new activities taking place, let your creativity go wild and have a go at adorning our art wall. Follow the path, where you will be led to the lantern tree and find forest bathing, where you can lean back and relax, as you gaze into the trees and see the sunlight twinkle through the leaves. Once you have relaxed, make your way around the forest to the mirror garden, where an assortment of distorted mirrors will be waiting for you to take pictures and make memories. Don’t forget to get festival-ready with face painting in our craft lodge. But the fun doesn’t stop there, as you can build your own fort in our den-building area! There is so much to do and explore here!
Take an relaxing punt down the River Cam
Another new addition this year will be punting! With nothing like it in this area, we are bringing punting to Saffron Walden this summer. Hop on board a punt at the Cam Bridge in the Fulfen Forest and travel down to Adam Bridge and back, where you can discover the beauty of nature along the riverside. This trip will take around 15 minutes and will be an extra charge of £5 per person, under 92cm are half price.
Get, set, go with Railway Racers
Are you ready to race your way around our Railway Racers track this summer? Come and join us as you ride and race your friends around the track.
This activity is included within your ticket and is located by the nature corner; when riding, each child will be given a helmet to wear during their time on the bikes.
Be entertained by our stage performers
We have a variety of stage performers coming to celebrate our Summer Festival this year, including a magician, live music, a children’s yoga instructor, DJ Melody, circus acts, storytelling, fire-breathing, and so much more! These will all be held at our stage tent, next to Railway Racers and the Nature Corner.
Dance in our Fairy & Elf parade
This summer, we have our Fairies and Elves leading a parade around the site, where we encourage everyone to join in and dance with the magical creatures.
Play in our Games Area
Our games area is sure to bring you joy as you build a tower with the blocks and beat your friends and family at noughts and crosses. These will be located on the field after you cross the track.
Discover the Fairy & Elf Walk, where you’ll find enchanting creatures
Stroll through the Fairy & Elf Walk where the magical creatures live in harmony with nature. Peer into the enchanting homes and get a glimpse into their hidden fairy realm. With so many houses to explore, make sure to follow the trail to guide you through.
Our nature corner, which encourages little ones to learn more about the wildlife around them. We also have an adventure playground where kids can run wild and let off steam, before being replenished in our woodland cafe.
