A new chapter begins in the Enchanted Forest
For the past few months, we’ve been quietly sprinkling a little magic behind the scenes… and we’re finally ready to share it with you. We have evolved our name to Audley End Enchanted Railway with a new look to match!
Honouring our past, embracing what we’ve become
For more than 60 years, families have known us as Audley End Miniature Railway (originally Audley End Steam Railway for the long-time fans amongst us!) – and that history will always be at the heart of what we do. But over the decades, the experience has grown far beyond the original train ride.
Our Fairy & Elf Walk has flourished, our annual events have expanded, and our woodland world now includes everything from immersive stage shows to summer punting and crafted seasonal worlds woven between the trees. We’ve become a place of stories, surprises and plentiful magical details, all rooted in our unique Enchanted Forest setting with the Railway and river running through.
Why we chose a new name
When it came to the name, we knew we wanted to celebrate our history and keep what people know and love, whilst better reflecting the full world we’ve grown into. We would never stray from our heritage of being Audley End Railway, but found the word Miniature was no longer as reflective (despite our trains being perfectly scaled models!).
After speaking to multiple stakeholders – including the people who know and love the railway, our wonderful staff, returning customers (parents and little ones) and also families who hadn’t heard of us before – we landed on Audley End Enchanted Railway to signify the magic of our woodland setting combined with our beloved railway in our unique setting.
Cherished moments, endless wonder
At the centre of this rebrand is a simple idea: cherished moments, endless wonder. It’s about the feeling of families exploring together and enjoying the ever-changing creativity of our site. It’s the magic of the train ride, the excitement of discovering something new and the joy of being out in nature. Most of all, it’s about creating family memories that last.
A refreshed look, rooted in heritage
Our updated visual identity reflects this too. The logo still holds the familiar structure inspired by traditional railway signage, keeping that sense of heritage and nostalgia. But we’ve added subtle illustrative touches that introduce a little woodland magic and hint at the wider experience beyond the tracks. It feels familiar, warm and true to who we’ve become. Our graphic elements take inspiration from the track and river that wind through the forest, paired with bright and uplifting but natural colours that reflect our whimsical woodland.
A word from our owner
Our owner Amanda, who took over from her father in 2010, shares it best:
“Our new look and name mark a new chapter in such an exciting time for us. I am so proud to have grown my father’s beloved railway into the magical world it is today, and it’s all thanks to our wonderful customers who entrust us to come and create memories with their families. It means so much to be able to share this beautiful corner of the world with so many people. Cherishing childhood, being out in nature and championing human connection in an increasingly digital world is what it’s all about for us.”

We can’t wait to welcome you back into the forest from 14th March (Mother’s Day weekend!) and show you everything we’ve been working on. There’s much more magic to come this year including a new play village for little explorers and a brand-new train, we can’t wait to share it all with you.
